Fall/Winter 2008 Clay Classes Clay work builds many skills in children: visual, spatial, and physical to name a few. The changeable nature of clay helps children learn cause and effect. Projects ranging from clay play to ceramic sculpture will be constructed. All creations will surely express individual’s 3-dimensional style.

Thursday nights 6:30 - 8:00 pm ages 12 and up (ADULTS too) We’d love to start a 6 week course for hand building and wheel throwing, please e-mail if interested, please specify for hand building or solely wheel work.
Makeup classes are only possible if you call in advance for the absence, and can make another scheduled class time. No refunds or credits will be given. A few words and creations from the instructors:

(36, married, sagitarious, loves chocolate, hockey, kids and art) owned and operated Creative Space, the Art Gym on Merchants Row a few years back. She has taught adults and children how to use a variety of artistic materials including painting, drawing, textiles, ceramics, and photography. Now Helvi is getting her hands muddy again in the clay with handbuilding and wheel classes at MUDDY HANDS pottery studio. She holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Studio Arts from UVM and is an active mom of 2 active boys. |

graduated from Saint Michael's in the Spring 2006 with a degree in Fine Arts,focus in print making. She has taught children's pottery class at the Rutland Recreation Department for the past three summers. In her free time she throws pottery as well as hand building. April loves art and working with children. |

is owner of the art studio, educator in the arts and graduated from Ohio State University and from Castleton State College in Art Education. She enjoys all the colors and forms of art and loves to inspire children while they are exploring their artistic hands and minds. When away from the studio Jen enjoys her time with her two children and husband, outdoors in the arms of mother nature. |
