Comfort with new vocabulary Day 4 to Day 5: Math Lab: Fraction Equivalence. Renaming and Reducing Fractions (i) What does equivalence look like? Creating Mental Models beyond numbers (ii) Exploring the concept in multiple scenarios. Strengthening understanding (iii) Investigation to establish relationships: Uncovering a Mathematical Process (Math Rules) Day 6: Consolidation of the process discovered. Practice for Accuracy and Speed: A quick test to identify the gaps and support learning Day 7 to Day 9: Math Lab: Mixed Fractions, Proper Fractions, Improper Fractions and Conversions (i) What do they look like? Creating Mental Models beyond numbers (ii) Exploring Multiple Scenarios. Strengthening Understanding (iii) Investigation to establish relationships: Uncovering a Mathematical Process (Math Rules) Day 10: Consolidation of the process discovered. Practice for Accuracy and Speed: A quick test to identify the gaps and support learning Day 11 to Day 12: Math Lab: Addition and Subtraction – Like Fractions (i) What does the concept look like? Creating Mental Models beyond numbers (ii) Exploring Multiple Scenarios. Strengthening Understanding (iii) Investigation to establish relationships: Uncovering a Mathematical Process (Math Rules) Day 13: Consolidation of the process discovered.
